Describing existing media and advertising campaign

Lucozade in the 1970's (1979) was seen as a medicine for when you was feeling poorly you would be able to go to the pharmacy and buy a glass of  Lucozade and you would drink it throughout you being poorly for a result of you getting better. The key words for this is 'refreshes and sustain' this tells people that it is a very nice drink and it fits its purpose for making people feel better when poorly. The target audience for this is dominantly to the children audience because of the adverts that where produced, in the adverts it shows a kid in bed sick and the mum bringing a Lucozade to him and you then see his friends outside waiting for him and after he had drank the Lucozade he felt better and went to play with his friends.

Nowadays in the modern day Lucozade has been completely re-branded and is now seen as a sports drink/drink you would casually buy from the shops. Lucozade is a lot more modern now with adverts being produced with famous athletes such as Anthony Joshua. The key words for this brand of Lucozade can be 'find your flow' this shows the more sporty side Lucozade has approached in the modern day and it is implying drinking Lucozade will fuel your flow more into working harder.

This power point is of the 10 horror movies I have decided to pick and it provides a bit of information about the films, that information being the date of the films release and then where the movie originated from. I will later be doing research on horror posters and reduce them down to five and provide a developed description on each movie.

The Massacre - my film title

The Massacre is a horror movie about a boy who was bullied in school, throughout his whole school life he was looked down by everyone and everybody disrespected him saying mean things about him and his family. The boy would not be able to catch a break he would be in constant fear of what would happen to him next, the boy would not just get verbally bullied he would also be physically bullied. The boy was getting fed up with the bullying and decided he wanted to take action and march into his school one day with a gun and decided to shoot the school up and then he proceeded to capture a certain amount of people in a room who bullied him the worst, the people that gave him the most grief. The boy would do unspeakable things putting the bullies through the same hell that they had put him through.

The poster for this movie is of  the boy in the middle with his hands over his head and eyes closed whilst all the bullies are around him laughing at him, the poster will also include guns joined in with the letters and blood streaming off the letters to add a scary effect. A little quote will be in the bottom left of the poster saying 'they will all pay for making me suffer'. This poster will do a good job of attracting people towards it with the disturbing message leaving people intrigued to see what has happened and why the boy is so angry.

The advertising for this movie will be shown firstly all around social media on platforms such as YouTube and TikTok on these platforms there will be 30 second trailers about the film and due to the huge following both of these platforms have a lot of people will be drawn towards the movie and will be intrigued to watch it. Another form of advertising that is going to be used is public advertisements for example billboards will be made, there will be posters on side of buses the reasoning this will be effective is because the great amount of people that will see it doing daily activities such as going to work and seeing the billboards about the film.

Evaluate different cross media advertising cross media advertising campaigns for consistency of message

Below you will find further analysis of five of my Horror/ Thriller films researched.

This is the five films I chose to pick from the original ten, that I had picked and next to each of the five films is a brief description about the film explaining what the film is about.

I have gone into greater detail from my original 10 films.

Create a pre production plan for the media components in the planned advertising campaign

This is an edited picture of an alien where I picked certain parts of the alien and picked different colours to make it stand out more.

With this picture it was originally a normal picture not edited but I took the paint brush tool to edit the picture to give it a cool effect.

With this picture it originally started out as a blank screen with my name, to make it look better I changed the colour of the background to light blue and changed the font to light blue to make it look like Antarctica.

This picture originally started off as a blank screen with the original text so I changed the back ground and rasterised the text and flicked the text to make it look like flames I also mirrored it to give it a cooler effect.

With this work we had to look at an existing newspaper and come up with our one that looks just as good as the original one, they had to be close to identical.

With this image I took the United Kingdom flag and rasterized text onto the flag to give it a cooler effect.

With this work I filtered the text on the word landscape with the background being of a landscape.

With this work I used a different pixel type on each of the three pictures to show the difference from number one to three.

With this work I used the photoshop app to put text around the different shapes I also used different colours to make it stand out more.

M2

Justify the choice of planned components by targeted by media sector

The typical components you will see on a horror poster is a brief picture on what the film is about, for example you will see a few images of the main characters doing actions giving us clues on what the movies about for example doing certain actions such as holding a knife or a gun.

With my horror movie being about a boy who has been bullied his whole life by people in school, beating him up daily, saying things about his family. My poster will have the boy crouched on the floor with his hands over his head with speech bubbles coming from his head saying things such as 'I cant take it anymore', 'they will pay for what they have put me through', 'I hate them all' all of these quotes will leave the audience intrigued to see what has happened and what has caused this boy to be so angry and upset to want to get revenge so much.

As well as the boy in the middle there will be people surrounding the boy saying things such as 'I would hate to be him', 'he is so pathetic' this will give the audience more of an idea on what has caused the boy to be so angry. Another component that I would be adding to the poster is little blood streams off the certain letters, this will add a disturbing effect to the poster giving it that perfect horror effect.

I will make sure to use a font that is beaten up and looks rough to give it that uneasy feeling for the audience on why the text looks like that and what it could possibly mean. With the blood I will also make sure to add hand prints across the poster, this adds a sinister feeling to the poster.

I feel that this poster is perfect for advertising as it uses creative fonts and images as well as bright colours (the blood as the title), the reasoning I feel this would be perfect for advertising is that it will catch a lot of people's eyes.

I would advertise this poster on things such as billboards and the sides of buses the reasoning for this is because people see these things every day doing daily activities such as taking their kids to school, going to work or going for the food shopping. With the most popular travel being cars and buses people will see these forms of advertisements every day as they are very common in society.

I feel that also advertising this poster will bring in great positives for the movie as people all around the world will be aware of the movie and will be intrigued to see the movie due to the very appealing form of advertising.

Another form of advertising that I will be carrying out is on social media, I feel this will be really successful as social media owns really big platforms so that more and more people will be introduced to the movie poster. The social media platforms that I will advertise too will be platforms such as Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.

                                                   Primary Photographs

For these pictures I went into the study room and I got my friend to stand in front of the green screen and do different poses to represent a horror/thriller theme of pictures. I also got my teacher to do different lightings on the photographs to create a more intense effect depending on the different types of lighting.

These pictures are very useful as it is in front of a green screen this allows me to edit the background and image and text to give it a cooler effect.

Explain how the created media components comply with the codes and conventions of the media sectors

This posters complying with the codes and conventions of the media sector as it is being advertised on a billboard in front of a city where many of people will be seeing it daily therefore the movie will significantly grow in popularity.

The reasoning for me putting it on a billboard is because it is high up and people who are in the buildings will be able to view the poster.

This is my horror poster and I feel it fits my film really well as it is about a school boy who turns on his bullies for revenge I have used bright text that draws the attention of many people as they will be wondering why have I picked red and if it means something or not.

This Instagram shows the advertising part to the poster, sharing this all over social media shows people all around the world that this film now is coming to your screen an it prepares people for the film. This builds a lot of excitement for the audience as there will be a hot new topic to talk about being the brand new Massacre film.
